This Privacy Notice explains how B1aQK (“B1aQK”, “we”, “us”) collects, uses, shares, and protects personal data when you visit our website, submit a business listing, contact us, or otherwise interact with our services.

1. Who we are

B1aQK operates this website and the B1aQK Business Directory. For the personal data described in this notice, B1aQK acts as the data controller. You can contact us at benjamin@b1aqk.com.

2. Personal data we collect

Account & contact data: name, email address, password (hashed), and, for business listings, phone number and business address.
Business listing content: business name, description, category, services, logo, owner bio, and any other content you submit.
Support / message content: messages you send us through contact forms or email.
Usage / telemetry data: pages visited, referrer, approximate location derived from IP, device / browser type, and timestamps.
Device identifiers & IP address: used for security, fraud prevention, and analytics.
Payment-related data: handled by Stripe (see Section 5). We do not store card numbers.

3. Why we use your data (purposes & legal bases)

Provide the service (create your account, publish your listing, respond to messages) — performance of a contract.
Security & fraud prevention (rate limiting, abuse detection, audit logs) — legitimate interests.
Product improvement & analytics (understanding which pages are used) — legitimate interests.
Customer support (answering your requests) — performance of a contract / legitimate interests.
Marketing emails (only if you opt in) — consent, which you can withdraw at any time.
Legal compliance (tax, accounting, responding to lawful requests) — legal obligation.

4. How long we keep your data

We keep personal data only for as long as we need it for the purposes set out above. Business listings and account data are retained while your account is active and for a reasonable period afterwards for record-keeping. When data is no longer needed, we delete or anonymise it. You can request deletion at any time (see Section 8).

5. Who we share data with

We share personal data only with the following categories of recipients:

Stripe, Inc. (“Stripe”) — our payment processor for paid directory listings. Stripe handles payment processing, billing, subscriptions, and payment-related support, and receives the personal data required for those purposes (name, email, billing address, transaction data).
Service providers / subprocessors we rely on to run the site, including hosting, database, email delivery, and mapping providers. They act on our instructions and are bound by confidentiality obligations.
Professional advisers (legal, accounting) where necessary.
Authorities where we are legally required to do so.

6. Cookies & analytics

We use a small number of cookies and similar technologies that are strictly necessary to operate the site (for example, to keep you signed in) and to measure aggregate usage. We do not use third-party advertising cookies. Where required by law, we will ask for your consent before setting non-essential cookies.

7. International transfers

Our providers, including Stripe, may process data outside your country. Where personal data is transferred internationally, we rely on appropriate safeguards such as Standard Contractual Clauses or adequacy decisions.

8. Your rights

Depending on where you live, you may have the right to access, correct, delete, restrict, or port your personal data, to object to certain processing, and to withdraw consent. We use appropriate technical and organisational measures — including encryption in transit, access controls, and audit logging — to protect personal data. No system is perfectly secure, but we work to prevent unauthorised access, alteration, or disclosure.

We may update this Privacy Notice from time to time. When we do, we will update the “Last updated” date at the top. Material changes will be communicated where appropriate.
